One airport’s day, from the first inspection to the packs.
The aerodrome, the ground handling and the rescue and firefighting service, told as one day in 28 films. Each step opens its film, where the operator’s phone and the dashboard play together, chapter by chapter.
Illustrated from the real operator app and dashboard. The aerodrome and ground handling films are set at Harbourview Regional Airport and the ARFF films at Eastvale Regional Airport; their own dates run from 20 October to 4 November. Each team keeps its own records and decisions: Escudo Aviation never issues a NOTAM, never declares an aerodrome safe, never declares a category, never approves a lifting device and never certifies anyone as trained. Both airports and everyone in the films are invented.
Before the day
- 20 OctAerodromeSetting up the site
The manager picks the rule pack, numbers the runway edge lights 1 to 24 and records the last technical inspection.
- The day beforeGSETurn profiles and the flights import
The airline adds a Dash 8 service with no turn profile: one is set by hand, and tomorrow’s schedule imported with every row checked.
The day
- 04:30GSEFlights to the first shortfall
The flights become demand, pre-use checks run from START and PROOF tags, a missing bumper red-tags a belt loader, and 06:00 is short by 1.
- 04:40AerodromeBefore the first departure
The reporting officer logs today’s movements and runs the safety-critical inspection on the phone: 1 of 1 done before the 06:10 departure.
- 05:10AerodromeTwo lights out
Lights 11 and 12 go out side by side, so the circuit is Restricted, a NOTAM is required and the supervisor acknowledges the change.
- 05:20AerodromeThe NOTAM log
The NOTAM is raised the aerodrome’s usual way, and Escudo records the request, the number and the review on the phone.
- 06:20GSEAt the stand
The turn set at stand 4 is checked, a tug touches a cargo door, and the lockout holds until an inspection lifts it.
- 06:55ARFFCrew to category
T. Brooks signs on to TENDER 1 with a competency out of date, the crew rule drops the category, and a drill renews it.
- 07:14ARFFDaily check to category
The major foam tender’s daily check at the pump panel, with a flickering locker light and no signal in the bay, still counts on the board.
- 07:30AerodromeRain and the runway condition report
The wet runway is reported third by third, two MEDIUM braking reports prompt a slippery wet report, and by 09:50 it is dry.
- 07:41ARFFWhen the category drops
A pump that will not engage, category 5 with the cause, alerts that escalate, the NOTAM reference and the category restored.
- 09:00ARFFFoam and agents
TENDER 2’s induction test measures 2.4% instead of 3%, it is restricted until the retest passes, and every litre stays on the record.
- 09:30AerodromeLights fixed
The lamps are replaced, the circuit is Serviceable again, and the NOTAM is cancelled the usual way and recorded as cancelled.
- 09:55AerodromeWorks and the restore countdown
The works safety officer is briefed and starts with a photo, restores the taxiway before the 10:40 movement, and resumes after it.
- 10:00GSEPermits, authorities and notices
A permit expiring, a driver with no airside driving authority for the apron, and an airport defect notice closed out.
- 10:40ARFFIncidents, drills and response times
A full emergency from call to stand-down, the agent each appliance used, replenishment and a response-time drill.
- 11:50AerodromeHandback and the inspection
The taxiway is handed back with an end photo beside the start photo, and stays Restricted until the next inspection meets it.
- 13:00AerodromeA planned closure
Planned the day before, the runway closes for line marking with no alarm, the manager’s own state beside it, and is Open again at 15:00.
- 13:30AerodromeA bird strike
Galahs are moved off the runway, then a strike on landing gets the 72-hour reminder until the report is recorded; Escudo never lodges it.
- 16:00ARFFInsights and the readiness pack
ARFF insights, the readiness pack with its SHA-256, the CSV download and sealed check records with a verified chain.
- 16:50AerodromeThe inspector pack in full
The findings map, then one pack with every section an aerodrome inspector asks for and a SHA-256 to check the download.
The days after, and the other sites
- 30 OctAerodromeA crane and an unplanned inspection
A crane restricts the board and nobody acknowledges for 15 minutes, so managers are alerted; later a pilot’s debris report raises an inspection.
- 30 OctGSEA new unit, the EWP switch and an override
Out of service until the load test interval is set, the certificate recorded, the EWP switch and a credential override.
- 29 to 31 OctGSEStatutory items and the station pack
Statutory items coming due, a certificate recorded and a wrong one voided, and the month-end station pack.
- 31 OctGSEHelicopter ground handling
The wheels check from the START tag, and a frayed strap that quarantines the tie-down kit.
- 4 NovAerodromeThe emergency exercise
The full-scale exercise from the library is run on the phone, a gap becomes a corrective action, everyone signs, and the drill pack is made.
- Any dayAerodromeA remote strip
The owner reports the strip ready by day only, records who was told and lays the night kit before a night task. The pilot decides.
- Any dayAerodromeA hospital landing site
The pad is inspected daily and before each movement, and when it closes for repairs, who was told is on record.
One record, three boards
Records only. Each board shows what your records say; the decisions stay with your reporting officers, supervisors, aerodrome manager, ARFF service and the pilots. The drill library.
Put one airport on the boards
Send us your serviceability inspection, a GSE pre-use check and your appliance check. We will set up the site and show you the boards working.
