    Scan the tag

A printed QR tag at each check point: the cab of each appliance, the pump panel, the station board, the start of each inspection zone. The crew member scans it from inside the Escudo Aviation app and the right check opens.

Where a section asks for a tag, the scan, or a skipped scan with its reason, is recorded with the time. NFC and BLE tags are in development; QR works today.

  2. 02

    Check item by item

The template for that vehicle, set of equipment or zone, in your service’s own words. Pass, fail or not applicable, a reading against a limit you set, a choice from a list, a note.

On an ARFF daily check, the water, foam concentrate and complementary agent on board are entered as numbers. The check records the time, and findings and aerodrome items record the GPS position where the device has a fix.

  3. 03

    Take the photo

A photo on the items your template asks for, and with every finding. Each photo is stored with the record it belongs to, and is stored only in Sydney.

  4. 04

    Raise the defect

A failed item becomes a defect with its photo and a severity. A critical defect takes the vehicle out of service at once. The defect is assigned, repaired and closed with a before and after photo, and the vehicle returns to service.

An aerodrome finding becomes a defect the same way, pinned to where it was found.

  5. 05

    Watch the category

Every check, defect and repair feeds the category board. If the serviceable vehicles and agent no longer meet the declared category, the board shows the reduction, opens an event with the time, cause and person, alerts the supervisors in the dashboard and starts a timer. There is a place to record the NOTAM reference against the event. Restoration closes it.

  6. 06

    Export the pack

Each submitted check is sealed about an hour after it arrives, with a SHA-256 hash chained to the check before it for the same asset. Other records keep every change in the append-only audit log. On request, we correct a check as a new version and keep the original.

For an audit, export the ARFF readiness pack or the aerodrome pack for any date range, as PDF and spreadsheet, with a hash manifest.

Built for no signal

The crew app keeps vehicles, zones, tags and templates on the phone or tablet. A check done in an appliance bay, a hangar or on a remote strip is built to wait on the device with its photos and defects, and send when signal returns.

Every record carries an id made on the device, so sending it twice never makes a duplicate.

Checks that cannot be quietly changed

A submitted check or inspection is sealed about an hour after it arrives, with a SHA-256 hash chained to the previous check for that asset. Change a sealed answer and the chain no longer verifies.

Other records are not sealed; the audit log keeps who changed what and when, against the template version in force that day. On request, we correct a check as a new version and keep the original.

Getting started

Set up with you, not by a form

There is no self-serve sign-up yet. We set up each new service with its people, so the rules table, the templates and the zones are right before the first check.

Talk to us
  • Your airport or aerodrome. The declared category and foam level, and the zones of the movement area.
  • Your vehicles and equipment. Each appliance with its capacities, and the equipment you check.
  • Your templates. Chosen from the catalogue, changed to your procedure and wording, and published by you.
  • Your rules table. Chosen for your jurisdiction and confirmed by you. If your authority’s figures differ, we set up a table with them.
  • Your tags. One QR tag per check point, printed on labels.

Start with one station or one aerodrome

We load your vehicles, zones and the templates you choose, you validate them in your own words, and your crews start checking. Tell us about your airport.
