Tunnelling: refuges and rescue that move with the face.
A tunnel’s refuge chambers, self-rescuers and fresh air base move as the drive advances. Escudo Mining keeps them by location, checked and ready, with no signal at the face.
Why it matters
The layout changes weekly
Refuge chambers and caches are moved forward as the tunnel advances, and their checks must follow them.
No signal at the face
Checks are done where the equipment is, and sent when the crew comes back out.
Contractors on site
Rescue may be provided by the contractor, the principal or a mines rescue service, and the record must show who.
- A location tree you edit as the drive advances, with refuges, caches and fresh air bases where they really are
- Self-rescuers by serial, caches counted against par, and refuge chamber checks
- Underground plant pre-starts, including shotcrete sprayers and personnel carriers
- Mutual aid and mines rescue agreements kept with their review dates
Plant checks in the starter library
- Shotcrete sprayer and agitator pre-start
- Integrated tool carrier or EWP pre-start
- Underground light vehicle or personnel carrier pre-start
- Underground vehicle brake test
Starting points to adapt. Limits are never set for you: your site enters its own from the maker and its procedures.
